VERSUS is a leading hospitality group in Washington, DC, behind some of the city’s top nightlife and dining destinations — including Morris American Bar, Casta’s Rum Bar, Ciel Social Club, and HEIST. We specialize in creating experiences that merge elevated design, music, and culture, and we’re looking for a creative, driven Social Media Manager to bring our brands to life online and in‑venue.
Role Overview
The Social Media Manager will oversee social media marketing strategy across all 5 VERSUS brands (Morris, Casta’s, Ciel, Heist, and VERSUS). This role combines high‑level strategy with hands‑on content creation, community engagement, and team leadership. This is a full‑time, hybrid role. We typically work three days in the office and two days from home, but with flexible scheduling to accommodate weekly in‑venue content capture at our locations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies that align with brand goals.
Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and competitor activities.
Lead and direct a team of virtual assistants on community management, outreach, and engagement.
Collaborate with hospitality, marketing, and operations teams to ensure cohesive branding and in‑venue support.
Content Creation and Management
Visit all venues on a weekly basis to capture videos and photos for social media content.
Oversee content creation and curation for all social platforms.
Ensure brand consistency in tone, imagery, and messaging.
Community Engagement
Engage authentically with followers and respond to comments, messages, and reviews.
Manage all digital touchpoints with customers and address service issues as needed.
Execute online promotions and campaigns to drive engagement and loyalty.
Manage relationships with influencers and UGC.
Daily Management
Monitor all social media platforms for engagement opportunities.
Post and schedule daily content across accounts and ensure stories are updated.
Manage a content calendar in collaboration with marketing teams.
Attend monthly photo and video shoots with the Marketing and Creative Directors.
Analytics and Reporting
Review social analytics weekly to track performance and optimize strategy.
Deliver monthly reports and insights to senior management.
Team Coordination
Lead weekly meetings with the Marketing Director to align on strategy and content goals.
Attend weekly Operations meetings to address venue marketing needs.
Delegate and supervise content creation tasks for interns and virtual assistants.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in hospitality, nightlife, or lifestyle brands.
Strong creative eye for photo/video content, trends, and storytelling.
Proficiency with social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and analytics tools.
Experience managing teams or freelancers.
Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for in‑venue content capture.
Must be based in Washington, DC / DMV area.
