Interim Designer - Los Altos
Peruri Design Company is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented Interior Designer to join our team immediately or to start in early 2026.
This is a hybrid position, with three days in our Los Altos office and two days working from home. Responsibilities
Support conceptual design, schematic design, and design development. Take direction from the Principal and senior designers while proactively contributing ideas and solutions. Create mood boards and presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent. Produce interior architectural documents, including floor plans, elevations, RCPs, millwork drawings, and custom furniture designs. Select and specify materials, finishes, and fixtures; source and curate contemporary furnishings, fabrics, lighting, art, and accessories. Create accurate schedules for tile/stone, paint, millwork, casework, appliances, plumbing, hardware, and accessories. Assist the project manager with processing and tracking furniture and furnishings orders. Manage and monitor project progress through all phases—design, fabrication, and construction. Conduct field visits, take site measurements, and support construction administration through site inspections. Participate in team meetings, maintain meeting notes and internal documentation. Carry out weekly office‑related and administrative tasks as required. Benefits

A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or an equivalent skill set. At least 3 years of experience in a high‑end residential design firm. Expertise in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Studio Designer, Asana, and Office 365/Google Suite. Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the Principal and senior designers. Travel to project sites across the Bay Area and San Francisco; reliable personal vehicle required. Strong knowledge of furniture, lighting, hardware, materials, finishes, and window/floor coverings, including selection and specification. Experience working with vendors, showrooms, workrooms, subcontractors, and partner teams on job sites. Strong problem‑solving abilities and the ability to resolve on‑site issues quickly and professionally. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages. Comfort participating in meetings, managing notes, and maintaining internal project documentation. Willingness to assist with general office and administrative tasks as needed. About Our Company
