Job Description
We are seeking a mid-level Interior Designer with 4-5 years of experience in residential projects to lead the production of detailed interior design drawing sets. This role goes beyond technical modeling – we’re looking for a designer who can contribute creative ideas, make informed design decisions, and add real value to each project. The ideal candidate will combine technical precision with strong design sensibility, working independently and collaboratively to elevate our work.
Location Brookline, MA
Salary $50,000 - $100,000 annually
Job Responsibilities
Work with the design team to turn design concepts into beautifully detailed and inspired documentation and built environments
Assist design team in developing custom millwork concepts as required
Develop detailed 2D/3D drawings for project presentations in Autodesk Revit, Google Sketchup, and Adobe Photoshop
Prepare construction documents to support the design including furniture plans, finish plans, ceiling/electrical plans, interior elevations, and millwork details
Prepare specification book for finishes, fixtures, materials, and lighting
Correspond with millworkers, custom furniture workrooms & vendors as it relates to technical/custom designed elements
Correspond with builders as it relates to specifications
Review and approve shop drawings for custom elements in coordination with builders
Assist with installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings as required on job sites
Understand technical regulations and code compliance requirements
Cross‑reference product information & specifications to ensure compatibility with design elements
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture required
4‑5 years of experience in residential or commercial interior design/architecture
Available to work in‑office minimum of 3 days and regular access to a vehicle
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit or AutoCAD and Google Sketchup
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop preferred
Proven experience producing full interior architectural drawing sets
Strong understanding of materials, millwork, ergonomics and practical construction dimensions
Creative mindset with a strong eye for interior design and a proactive approach to design challenges
Ability to meet deadlines, work effectively in a team environment, and manage multiple priorities within established timelines
Ability to listen to understand and tailor responses to all collaborators appropriately
Strong attention to detail, especially in written and visual communications
