Senior Account Executive – Health & Life Science Communications
Join FleishmanHillard as a Senior Account Executive, Health & Life Science Communications. We are looking for energetic professionals with strong instincts, self‑starter attitude, and a passion for collaboration.
As a member of our dynamic Health & Life Science practice, you will work on exciting neuroscience communications programs, develop key relationships with healthcare industry clients, and manage outreach to the media and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Play a pivotal role in handling day‑to‑day activities for the health and life science practice’s account teams, working with senior members to oversee projects and provide client counsel.
Coordinate team resources, facilitate teamwork, and create opportunities for junior staff to take on more responsibility.
Develop high‑quality written materials, including pitch letters, press materials, social copy, client correspondence, and media monitoring reports.
Actively participate in media relations outreach and strategy; pitch media, uncover trending news angles, maintain media lists, and track changes in reporters’ beats or new media platforms.
Support implementation of strategic plans and communication campaigns that align with client business objectives and deliver results.
Develop relationships and coordinate correspondence with external audiences, including third‑party organizations, healthcare professionals, patient groups, and media.
Create internal and client‑facing recaps and reports showcasing our work and identifying opportunities to grow future engagements.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare communications at an agency.
Thirst for knowledge and enthusiasm for the ever‑changing world of healthcare and communications.
Strong strategic thinking skills; ability to anticipate issues, trends, and connections, translating insights into actionable ideas.
Collaborative team member and leader with strong project management and problem‑solving skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to translate clinical data and information into lay language resonating across client stakeholders.
Understanding of digital media’s role in integrated communications strategies, as well as traditional, digital, and social media within the healthcare environment.
Experience contributing to strategic outreach plans to external audiences via social platforms, third‑party organizations, healthcare professionals, and media.
Ability to supervise and train junior‑level account staff, provide quality control, and determine workflow and assignments.
Excellent writing and editing skills, including developing press materials and communications plans.
Experience pitching health and life science trade media.
Strong client relationship skills and the ability to represent FH and client companies to key stakeholders.
Knowledge of project management and regulatory approval tools (e.g., Veeva, Asana, Khoros).

The anticipated salary range for a Senior Account Executive is $58,000 – $82,000. Compensation is based on experience, skills and geography, and includes a comprehensive benefits package such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and other benefits.
