Essential Functions
Comprehend and abide by all traffic regulations while transporting guests to and from the airport terminal or other designated sites.
Lift luggage, packages and boxes from cars, buses, vans and carts, placing items on the ground, onto baggage carts, conveyors or other vehicles.
Listen, understand and respond immediately to guest and associate inquiries and requests for assistance; greet guests with a friendly and sincere welcome.
Remain calm and alert especially during emergencies or heavy hotel activity and handle complications from driving in the local community.
Clearly communicate the features and services of the hotel facilities.
Supportive Functions
Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor.
Maintain cleanliness of the hotel van by cleaning and washing it when appropriate.
Takes van for periodic servicing and fueling as required.
Other duties as assigned such as assisting as Front Desk or Housekeeping when necessary.
Attempts to communicate with guest in guest's native language, if applicable.
Remains calm and alert, especially during emergency and/or heavy hotel activity, and resolves complications such as location changes or credit issues.
Van Driver associates when needed.
Provides safety deposit boxes for guests by escorting them to the vault, pulling the box from the vault and carrying it to the guest.
Operate various office machines.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
Considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
Standing, bending, and stooping may be required.
Licenses or Certificates Valid driver's license issued by the state in which the hotel is located. Must be 21 years or older to apply.
Notice The home office supports the hospitality business which functions seven (7) days a week, twenty‑four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with JL Hospitality Management rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of facilities.
