Job Description Lead and manage design teams to set & meet project deliverables according to defined timelines (based on Director & Principal’s approved schedule & milestones). Define and oversee budget with in-house purchasing accountant. Collaborate and interface seamlessly with designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects simultaneously. Responsible for material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, furniture sourcing, graphic and visual presentations.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating project documentation including submission of full drawing set, specification writing, schedules, and construction administration (submittal, RFI, ASI/IDSK review/response, consultant coordination)

Set regular meetings to update Principal/Director & Project Team

Be main point of contact with consultants & vendors for FF&E related scope

Request initial concept samples, cuts, and information for office & client approval

Prepare initial hardware and finish specifications

Oversee creation of FF&E Design Presentations, Purchase Orders & Specification Sheet Packages (prior to submittal to Project Director)

Manage FF&E / Material Vendor Relationships

Resolve / troubleshoot design issues

Schedule project installation with Install Team, oversee and approve styling plan

Review Install Team’s inspection Report of items prior to delivery (upholstered items, custom cabinetry, etc.)

Coordinate FF&E integration, documentation within scope of project deliverables

Determine appropriate deadlines/work schedules/specific duties for designers (based on overall workload)

Present all staffing needs and cross-team coordination bi-weekly to Project Director

Maintain Antique and Auction schedules with Studio Assistant

Maintain project records for decoration and specifications

Qualifications

6-10 years of work experience in interior design and a degree from an accredited university

High level of organization and attention to detail

Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

Knowledge of the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation

High proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite; Revit, Rhino, Enscape proficiency a plus

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the design team

Ability and willingness to travel (domestic and international)
