Gensler Los Angeles is seeking a creative, collaborative, experienced professional to join our office as a Marketing Director.Marketing at Gensler is a communications-based discipline that requires a passion for storytelling and the strategic acumen to guide business development efforts. Gensler LA’s new marketing director will be a vital member of the office, **working directly with the Regional Marketing Director and LA office Managing Directors** to pursue new business, while leading and mentoring a robust team.The marketing director position requires an excellent communicator with experience in business development strategy and managing a team. The ideal candidate will bring a **superior strategic outlook** and “make it happen” leadership skills, along with **impeccable organization and project management**.**Your Role**LA’s marketing director will **lead a talented team of marketing managers, specialists, and graphic designers, working together to produce materials in support Gensler’s business development efforts**, including writing and designing proposals, presentations, and other collateral. Our ideal candidate is a **thoughtful mentor**, able to train team members in best practices while also inspiring them to be proactive in their own professional development. The marketing director will also **work closely with the** **regional** **PR Manager and office leadership on local communications and PR efforts**.A key source of knowledge and leadership for business development and communications opportunities, the **marketing director will lead the department logistics, including staffing, knowledge management, opportunity tracking and reporting, and CRM efforts**. The marketing director communicates the marketing department’s efforts to office leadership and ensures both project data and client relationship information is tracked and reported appropriately, while overseeing and controlling the quality of marketing collateral.*Ideal Candidate Profile** Ability to coach, lead, and manage people* Forward-thinking, strategic partner to our senior leadership* Collaborative* Client-centric* Clear communicator* Graceful under pressure* Attentive to detail**What You Will Do**Marketing Director is responsible for project-level success of office marketing efforts, including:* Daily oversight of the LA marketing team, coaches team for professional growth, and inspires new ideas* Leads strategy/kickoff meetings with BD champions for strategic pursuits* Seeks out and implements process and content improvements, including the development of project case stories and resumes with marketing team* Clear and constant communication with Marketing Managers, weekly BD meeting/reporting (via Salesforce) with Regional Marketing Director, LA office leadership and senior design team members* Manages overall marketing pursuit spend to budget, and conducts win/loss analysis of opportunities* Collaborates with Marketing Managers around process to maintain resources and information systems: updating project documentation, image libraries, etc.* Knows firm portfolio in detail, understands practice area capabilities, actively seeks out firm's best practices for use in local efforts* Conducts internal and external research on new opportunities, prospective clients, and market position* Collaborates with office leadership on the communication and execution of client focused events* Collaborates with PR team on driving external LA thought leadership of projects, people and expertise* Provides oversight coordination of LA office photography and video shoots* Acts as point-person for Firmwide communications-related

projects* Maintains consistency of marketing deliverables, alignment with firm brand program, participates in design reviews with marketing team. Helps others learn Gensler brand standards.**Your Qualifications*** 15+ years of professional experience in a marketing role, preferably for an architecture, design, engineering, construction, or industry-related firm* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or adjacent field* Strong graphic design sensibility and written/verbal communication skills* Experience managing significant marketing projects independently, working closely with senior staff and leadership on marketing initiatives* Experience managing a large team – hiring, training, mentorship, and leading talent* Experience strategically partnering and supporting senior staff on business-critical projects* Self-motivator with strong organizational and intra-personal skills; a great collaborator* Fluent in InDesign and Microsoft Office.
