Member Engagement & Marketing Specialist
Position Summary
The Member Engagement & Marketing Specialist is responsible for implementing strategies to grow, retain, and engage ASBrS membership as well as marketing initiatives that enhance the organization’s visibility and value. This individual is the lead staff person for member communications, product promotions, and digital marketing campaigns, driving member engagement, retention, and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement marketing campaigns and initiatives, including email, web promotion, internal community messaging, and social media.
Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all communications.
Develop high-quality written and visual content for newsletters, websites, social media, and email campaigns.
Produce multimedia stories, graphics, videos, and photo assets in collaboration with staff and members.
Build and manage marketing communications using Informz/Thrive, maintaining and tracking analytics to measure engagement and refine strategies.
Manage production schedules and content calendars for all projects in the portfolio.
Develop marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, and digital graphics for events and member communication.
Produce event prospectus, sponsorship packets, exhibitor materials, and other event or education materials as needed with on‑brand design and timely delivery.
Deliver digital and print slides, signage, toolkits, and resources as needed to enhance ASBrS visibility.
Serve as staff support for one or more membership committees.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field.
Experience in content marketing or digital communications, ideally in a membership organization or association.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an attention to tone and detail.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Skilled in using analytics and design platforms.
Experience with Thrive/Informz marketing system preferred.
Strong collaborative team player comfortable interfacing with staff, members, and vendors.
Working Conditions & Travel
Remote location; must be a resident of Maryland, Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
Use of computers and standard office equipment for extended periods.
Some physical activity required (e.g., lifting up to 25 pounds).
Occasional travel required, including attendance at the Society’s Annual Meeting.
Salary $60,000–$80,000 based on qualifications.
