Job Title: Communications Specialist and Administrative Assistant Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction (ACAGJ)

Reports to: Headmaster

Work Hours/Days: School days from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and professional development days on the work‑site calendar

Position Summary Are you passionate about classical education? Do you desire to join a community of learners who share your passion and want to expand awareness and understanding of the liberal arts? Do you want to help train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a classical, content‑rich education?

Duties and Responsibilities Headmaster Support

Organize online files and resources (i.e. Drive)

Communicate Hillsdale resources

Schedule Zoom events on the internal Faculty Google Calendar

Manage file sharing to appropriate people

Take Attendance at Monthly Staff Meetings

Ensure "Thank You's" are written for varying reasons

Know safety protocols and support Headmaster and Staff as needed

Social media/mass communication coordination

Social media coordination including but not limited to campaign management, content design, and post scheduling

Regular logo/branding design in conjunction with Magis Guild/Marketing firm

Mass communication coordination including but not limited to regular parent newsletter content creation and scheduling, staff newsletter content creation and scheduling, school wide announcements, and emergency announcements

QGiv Management

Event scheduling

Ensure official Letterheads and branding are being used on materials throughout the school

HR Support and Hiring

Scheduling Interviews for Headmaster

Printing off interview questions/desired documents

Ensure Onboarding with Minga is complete before stepping on campus via Monday

Complete On Campus Onboarding with New Hire

Support termination (offboarding)

Introduce New Hire via email or weekly newsletter or at a staff meeting per Minga

Staff Events and Appreciation

May include the following and other events: Staff Orientation prep, Holiday Party, End of Year BBQ, Staff Lunches, Birthday acknowledgement, Monthly Happy Hours

Front Office Support

Back up Checking Visitors in and out of Raptor

Know how to use the phones

Cross trained in Pick Up Patrol and attendance

Other Various Tasks

Welcoming visitors for the Headmaster

Provide hospitality (water/coffee)

Know wifi passwords for staff, Students, guests, and IT (printing can only be done on certain networks)

Ensure mailboxes in workroom are accurate and up to date

Maintain a strong relationship with Alerio IT Tech and support for various needs

Support office w/ volunteers on campus

Coordinate purchasing new staff Ascent gear

Coordinate FRL uniform orders w/ registrar

Systems to use and know PowerSchool

Student Records and Schedules

Behavior violations

Teacher Schedules

Tagg - Substitute Teacher Check In

Ensure subs are welcomed and acquainted with their duties and responsibilities for the day (done in conjunction with fellow office personnel)

Minimum Job Requirements

Associate's degree or higher

Employment or volunteer experience in customer service, marketing, communications, or other related fields

Commitment to the mission and vision of ACACS

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues

Superior organization, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, ActiveCampaign or other CRMs, etc.)

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds

Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer

Must be able to supervise outdoor duties
