Proofreader, creative and marketing (Remote) Long Term Freelance

Creative & Marketing Proofreader

Must work PST Hours, Monday through Friday

Our client is seeking a fast-paced in-house creative proofreader to join their team remotely, ensuring all print and digital marketing materials for a major retail grocery client are accurate, consistent, and on-brand. You'll collaborate with copywriters, designers, and production teams while helping maintain the integrity of approved creative work. This role is ideal for someone detail-driven, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once with varied deadlines.

Responsibilities

Digitally review and proof a variety of marketing materials for grammar, style, accuracy, and brand consistency.

Fact‑check content and support maintenance of style guides.

Assist copywriters with light content creation and editing.

Work closely with designers, production artists, and project traffic teams.

Use soft‑proofing tools and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Serve as an escalation point during high workloads and recommend process improvements.

Job Requirements & Skills

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field + 4+ years relevant experience (agency preferred).

Expert knowledge of AP style, proofreading symbols, and strong attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and MAC platform.

Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and build strong internal partnerships.

Familiarity with prepress, printing, and color management is a plus.
