Overview
This senior contract role,
Communications + Technology Transformation Manager , provides critical support to Corporate Communications with a primary focus on internal communications for technology and transformation initiatives.
Acting as a dedicated extension of the team, this position serves as a strategic advisor to executive technology and transformation leaders, while also leading communications resources during the engagement. The contractor will drive clarity and engagement around key milestones, launches, changes, and adoption activities, and will design a scalable full‑time technology communications function, including operating model, staffing, and budget recommendations.
The role blends big‑picture communications strategy with hands‑on campaign execution, content development, and channel optimization.

Requirements
10+ years of senior-level communications experience with a
strong focus on internal and change communications in technology, digital, or transformation environments
Proven experience managing people and teams, including
recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and building or scaling communications functions
Strong project management skills with the ability to run complex workstreams end to end and meet tight timelines
Strategic mindset with experience
developing communications plans, narratives, and message architectures tied to business goals
Exceptional writing and editing skills , including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences and capture executive voice
Experience in large, global, or matrixed organizations or agency environments; comfortable navigating ambiguity and multiple stakeholders
Proficiency with
CMS and intranet publishing tools
such as
SharePoint and Microsoft 365 , and familiarity with collaboration and project tools such as
Teams, Viva Engage or Yammer, Smartsheet, Asana, or Jira
Data‑driven approach to communications, including
defining KPIs
and leveraging insights to optimize campaigns and channels
Bachelor’s degree required; field of study is flexible
Preferred:
experience supporting CIO or CTO organizations or enterprise platform migrations, change management training or certification such as Prosci, and experience building communications playbooks, service catalogs, and operating models
Duties
Serve as a senior strategic communications partner for technology and transformation leaders, providing counsel on messaging, timing, and stakeholder engagement
Plan, shape, and execute internal communications campaigns for technology and transformation initiatives, including program updates, releases, process changes, adoption efforts, and training
Lead and manage communications resources during the engagement, including mentoring team members and ensuring consistent standards and quality
Build executive‑ready content such as memos, intranet stories, FAQs, talking points, town hall run‑of‑shows, video scripts, and leadership updates
Develop and maintain
transformation communications plans and editorial calendars, managing timelines, dependencies, approvals, and governance for an ongoing FTE communications function
Align messaging frameworks, narrative arcs, and change communications toolkits in partnership with
Technology and Corporate Communications
stakeholders
Publish and enhance intranet hub content, support internal email and newsletter communications, and optimize collaboration channels such as Teams or Slack where appropriate
Coordinate internal events such as briefings, town halls, AMAs, information sessions, and roadshows, managing run‑of‑show, logistics, and post‑event follow‑up
Track and report on campaign and channel performance, including reach, engagement, sentiment, and adoption metrics, and use data to refine strategies and demonstrate impact
Refine and maintain communications playbooks, governance models, message maps, RACI frameworks, and approval workflows to improve consistency and speed
Support issues and incident communications related to technology releases, ensuring timely, clear, and audience‑appropriate updates
