The role: This contractor will provide critical support to Corporate Communications with a primary focus on internal communications for technology and transformation initiatives across client . The individual will act as a dedicated extension of the team with a strong emphasis on strategic planning, project management and general communications skills. East Coast availability preferred. This is a senior leadership remit — serving as a strategic communications advisor to executive technology and transformation leaders, accountable for people leadership of communications resources during the engagement, and responsible for designing a scalable FTE technology communications function.
The contract opportunity: You’ll apply broad communications expertise to support enterprise tech transformation, translating complex concepts into simple, actionable messages, coordinating delivery across channels, and ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned. There is potential to convert to full-time based on performance and business need.
Responsibilities
Proven people management experience (direct reports and/or dotted-line teams); experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring and developing communications professionals
Support the planning, shaping, and execution of internal communications campaigns for technology and transformation initiatives (program updates, releases, process changes, adoption and training)
Build executive-ready materials including internal memos, intranet articles, FAQs, talking points, town hall run-of-shows, video scripts, and leadership updates
Develop and maintain a transformation communications plan and editorial calendar; manage timelines, dependencies, and approvals across stakeholders and establish governance and operating rhythms for an ongoing FTE communications function
Partner with Technology and Corporate Communications to align messaging frameworks, narrative arcs, and change communications toolkits
Publish and enhance intranet hub content; support email and enterprise newsletters; optimize Teams/Slack channels where appropriate
Coordinate internal events (briefings, AMAs, information sessions, roadshows); drive run-of-show, logistics, and post-event follow-ups
Report KPIs for campaigns and channels (reach, engagement, sentiment, adoption), using data to refine plans and demonstrate impact
Refine playbooks and governance to improve consistency and speed (message maps, RACI, approval workflows)
Support issues and incident comms for tech releases as needed; ensure timely, clear updates to affected audiences
Qualifications
10+ years of communications experience (senior-level), with demonstrated success in internal/change communications within technology, digital, or transformation environments — including experience managing teams and building functions
Strong project management skills; proven ability to run complex workstreams end-to-end and meet tight EOY timelines
Strategic mindset with the ability to craft plans, narratives, and message architectures that ladder to business goals
Exceptional writing and editing skills; adept at translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and capturing leaders’ voice
Experience in large, global, matrixed organizations or agency environments; comfortable navigating ambiguity and multiple stakeholders
Facility with CMS/intranet publishing (e.g., SharePoint) and Microsoft 365; familiarity with enterprise collaboration tools (Teams, Viva Engage/Yammer) and project tools (Smartsheet/Asana/Jira) is a plus
Data-driven approach to measuring outcomes; ability to define KPIs and leverage insights to optimize communications
High attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; trusted counselor to senior leaders with a service-oriented mindset
Bachelor’s degree required (flexible on field of study)
