Film Forever Northwest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that owns and operates two Portland landmarks for film arts: the historic Hollywood Theatre and Movie Madness, an iconic independent video store. Our mission is to entertain, inspire, educate, and connect our community through the art of film, while preserving the historic Hollywood Theatre and the world‑class Movie Madness video collection. Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist promotes the Hollywood Theatre and Movie Madness as destinations for superior film experiences through storytelling and content creation. The role crafts valuable and engaging content to attract and retain customers, members, and donors through graphic design, writing, and video. The specialist is the lead contributor and coordinator for the organization’s blog, video content, and marketing collateral. Essential Functions
Create promotional materials (posters, social media assets, video) for special events and screenings at the Hollywood Theatre and Movie Madness. Produce and maintain promotional materials for special initiatives (merch releases, development projects). Develop dynamic video content, from monthly trailers to social media storytelling. Provide creative input for marketing and advertising strategy. Execute audience and customer experience initiatives, approximately once per month at both sites. Lead editorial coordination for the co‑branded blog launching in 2026, working with staff and guest contributors. Provide additional writing, graphic design, and video creation/editing as assigned. Represent the organization at screenings and public events as needed. Cover for the Marketing Coordinator as needed. Cover special events, conventions, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Four years of experience in marketing, ideally within nonprofits or arts and culture. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere). Familiarity with WordPress CMS. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt voice. Strong design sensibility and fluency in visual communication. Strong project management and organizational skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on time. Missions‑driven team player capable of collaborating with colleagues across the organization. Work Conditions & Requirements
The work is primarily performed in an office setting and/or remotely, with off‑site meetings and events. Occasional travel may be required.
