Production Control Expeditor – Onboard Systems

Location: Anaheim, CA (Onsite)

Shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Position Overview

The Production Control Expeditor ensures aerospace production orders flow through the manufacturing process on schedule by monitoring material availability, work order status, and shop floor progress. This role acts as a key liaison between Planning, Operations, and Customer Account Management to support on‑time delivery, minimize production delays, and maintain accurate visibility of order status for internal and external customers.

What You’ll Do

Monitor daily production schedules and proactively identify material shortages or work order delays.

Expedite materials, components, tooling, and documentation required to meet production commitments.

Coordinate with Purchasing, Receiving, and Inventory Control to resolve supply chain bottlenecks.

Track work order progress through all manufacturing work centers and ensure timely movement between stations.

Update ERP/MRP systems with accurate status, priorities, and routing changes as needed.

Communicate priority jobs and schedule changes to operators, leads, and supervisors.

Assist Operations in resolving workflow issues that prevent meeting production deadlines.

Participate in daily SQDIP or tier meetings to report constraints, shortages, and expected delivery dates.

Help maintain visual management tools, metrics boards, and shortage lists.

Work closely with Customer Account Management to provide accurate and timely status updates for customer orders.

Escalate issues impacting customer delivery commitments to Planning and leadership.

Collaborate with Quality and Engineering when technical or inspection issues impact schedule.

Maintain real‑time accuracy of work order data in the ERP system.

Generate and update shortage reports, hot lists, and weekly delivery reports.

Assist Planning with rescheduling work orders impacted by shortages or capacity constraints.

Support continuous‑improvement activities related to material flow, scheduling, and on‑time delivery.

Who You Are

2+ years of experience in production control, expediting, or material handling in a manufacturing environment (aerospace strongly preferred).

Working knowledge of manufacturing workflows and shop floor processes.

Experience using an ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JobBOSS, Infor).

Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments and influence without direct authority.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Basic understanding of Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and work orders.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic reporting tools.

Ability to walk the shop floor multiple times per day.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Comfortable working around machinery, tooling, and production equipment.
