Studio Art Teacher – Part Time

Join One River School of Art + Design as a Studio Art Teacher in Larchmont, NY. This part‑time position teaches weekly art classes for a variety of ages (K‑12) from 3 pm to 7 pm during the week and during the day on Saturdays. The role includes mentoring students, working alongside practicing artists, and contributing to a creative community.

Pay

Base pay range: $25.00/hr – $27.00/hr. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

What you’ll do

• Teach studio classes from 3 pm to 7 pm weekdays and during the day Saturdays for K‑12 students.
• Ensure student success by actively engaging, observing, documenting and communicating progress and opportunities for growth.
• Provide hospitality service & communication: conduct proactive check‑ins with parents, students, families; support makeup scheduling; discuss student progress; upsell additional classes/camps.
• Implement One River Methodology Curriculum: review lesson plans/resources on time, apply the Method in each class, and contribute to lesson plan development regularly.
• Run a best‑in‑class studio: maintain studio space, clean and organize, manage student artwork, and track art supply inventory.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience teaching visual arts for K‑12 and/or adults.
• Track record of high‑quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
• Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment.
• Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students‑first” mindset.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part‑time position with afternoon, evening and Saturday teaching hours.
