Bloomberg's Americas News Desk is seeking a Web editor to help shape and showcase the biggest stories of the day for our growing online audience. As a member of the nerve center of the newsroom, you will be expected to perform a variety of roles: curate our global homepages, write sharp headlines, send speedy mobile alerts, help bring elements such as video and charts into our stories, and advocate for our digital subscribers. This role will be based on the West Coast and will be responsible for covering the later part of the US day.
We’re looking for a self-starter with a passion for both breaking news and long-term enterprise; you will collaborate with reporters and editors to find creative and compelling ways to attract readers. You’ll need a deep understanding of the trends and coverage areas that matter for our digital audience, as well as confidence collaboratingwith all teams across Bloomberg’s newsroom and digital platforms. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires you to make split‑second decisions, deal with input from various stakeholders across the organization, and pitch in across roles in a flexible manner.
We'll trust you to:
Curate the various regional Bloomberg.com homepages on a daily basis, in line with Web readers' interests
Send alerts on breaking news, including writing copy and identifying the right audience
Provide guidance and feedback to other teams on optimizing coverage for an online audience
Identify the best content for increasing digital subscriptions
Advocate for readers' time and interests
Be calm under pressure
Be comfortable dealing directly with senior management
You’ll need to have:
A minimum of 5 recent years of experience covering business or financial markets
Experience working at a real‑time news service or publishing environment
Experience working across multiple beats or regions is a plus
A talent for looking beyond the obvious story
Excellent news judgment and strong attention to detail
Experience using visual media in news reporting, such as photo or video
A collaborative spirit and a willingness to innovate and experiment
Prior experience with SEO, AI and Google Analytics tools are a plus

Salary Range = 90000-125000 USD Annually+ Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
