Summary The Landscape Designer 2 prepares high quality, imaginative and practical landscapes, urban designs, and design solutions for projects such as master plans, park plans, recreational facilities, roadways, parkways, hospitals, schools, land subdivisions, and commercial, industrial, and residential sites with limited oversight. The person in this position will work under the guidance of a licensed Landscape Architect and is expected to exercise a strong work ethic, an appetite to learn new concepts, and have excellent organizational and communication skills. This person is able to shift between detailed landscape design work and larger‑scaled master planning work in a fast‑paced, professional environment. This person is expected to work well with others, absorb and apply constructive criticism, and seek guidance from more experienced members of the team as necessary.

Solid understanding of technical fundamentals
Performs basic technical tasks with limited oversight
Performs quality control of basic deliverables

Project Delivery Produces the following under limited direction/oversight from others:
Technical reports and memos
Visualization graphics/renderings
Construction quantity calculations and cost estimates
Design documents and construction plans
Understanding Budget and Schedule Moderate understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets. With guidance, predicts the level of effort for individual tasks and successfully delivers tasks within that level of effort. Monitors results on moderately complex projects.
Industry Standards and Regulations Understands and employ the following:
Multiple design codes specific to the array of local jurisdictions in which office provides services
Construction details relevant to landscape architecture
Region specific plant palettes and irrigation techniques
Client Interaction Limited direct interaction, commonly in group settings. Responds to emails, attends meetings, and answers questions/comments with limited autonomy.
Other Other duties as assigned.
Level of Work/Accountability Performs moderately complex technical work on projects for the assigned market sector. Operates with limited autonomy and work is supervised and reviewed by more senior staff.

Bachelor's Degree required
