The Learning Designer is responsible for achieving desired learning outcomes through the design and development of appropriate learning resources and delivery modes for a variety of audiences. This position may be filled remotely or at any of our locations.

Build instructionally sound, creative, and high‑quality learning products to meet organizational needs.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes, including eLearning and blended learning, with clear strategies and tactics to achieve desired learning outcomes.

Develop eLearning courses and supplemental materials using industry tools such as Articulate Suite, Camtasia, and Canva.

Create supporting materials (storyboards, summaries, etc.) to demonstrate vision to SMEs, gain support, and align with workflow.

Collaborate with team members to maintain and revise existing learning products; ensure content remains relevant, efficient, and focused on desired learning objectives.

Apply strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail; deliver error‑free, fully functional, and professional deliverables.

Apply adult learning theory when creating, updating, and evaluating course materials.

Conduct thorough quality assurance (QA) before submitting drafts to SMEs.

Work independently, take ownership of projects, organize and prioritize work effectively, and deliver on time.

Communicate verbally in a professional and effective manner.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

2+ years’ experience as an instructional designer in a professional services environment, and/or a 4‑year degree with significant coursework in Training, Instructional Design, or Computer Sciences.

2+ years’ experience with eLearning development and visual design tools, such as Articulate, Camtasia, Canva, etc.

Comfortable conducting meetings with stakeholders and delivering presentations in both informal team settings and structured professional development sessions.

Experience applying adult learning theory and best‑practice learning methodologies that support learner engagement, knowledge comprehension, retention, and skill development.

Ability to carry out the function of the position in a confidential manner.

Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material.

Ability to perform effectively with moderate supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. Bonus opportunities are discretionary and depend on performance. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states are:

State of California: $66,000 - $127,000

State of Colorado: $61,000 - $109,000

State of Illinois: $60,000 - $116,000

State of Massachusetts: $66,000 - $127,000

State of Maryland: $64,000 - $98,000

State of Minnesota: $66,000 - $110,000

Jersey City, NJ: $72,000 - $131,000

State of New York: $62,000 - $134,000

State of Vermont: $66,000 - $126,000

State of Washington: $64,000 - $122,000

Washington, D.C.: $86,000 - $126,000
