Learning Designer

position. This position may be filled remotely or in any of our locations.

Responsibilities

Build instructionally sound, creative, and high‑quality learning products to meet organizational needs.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (eLearning, blended learning) with clear strategies and tactics to achieve desired learning outcomes.

Develop eLearning courses and supplemental materials using common industry tools, such as Articulate Suite, Camtasia, and Canva (or similar visual design tools).

Build supporting materials (storyboards, summaries, etc.) as needed to demonstrate vision to subject matter experts, obtain support and buy‑in, and match their process workflow.

Collaborate with team members; maintain and revise existing learning products; ensure content is relevant and efficient while achieving desired learning objectives.

Demonstrate strong visual design skills, with a keen eye for detail; ensure deliverables are error‑free, fully functional, and professional in appearance.

Apply adult learning theory when creating, updating, and evaluating course materials.

Conduct thorough quality assurance (QA) before submitting drafts to subject matter experts.

Work independently, take ownership of projects, organize and prioritize work effectively, and deliver on time.

Communicate verbally in a professional and effective way.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

2+ years’ experience as an instructional designer in a professional services environment, and/or a 4‑year degree with significant coursework in Training, Instructional Design, or Computer Sciences.

2+ years’ experience with eLearning development and visual design tools, such as Articulate, Camtasia, Canva, etc.

Comfortable conducting meetings with stakeholders and delivering presentations in both informal team settings and structured professional development sessions.

Experience applying adult learning theory and best‑practice learning methodologies that support learner engagement, knowledge comprehension and retention, and skill development.

Ability to carry out the function of the position in a confidential manner.

Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material.

Ability to perform effectively with moderate supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. State of Illinois: $60,000 - $116,000

State of Minnesota: $66,000 - $110,000

Jersey City, NJ: $72,000 - $131,000

State of New York: $62,000 - $134,000

State of Vermont: $66,000 - $126,000

State of Washington: $64,000 - $122,000

Washington, D.C.: $86,000 - $126,000

Salary ranges do not include a discretionary bonus; bonus opportunities are non‑guaranteed and dependent upon individual and firm performance.
