We are seeking a
Manager, Marketing Technology
to work under the direction of the Director of Marketing Technology & Analytics. Every day you’ll make a difference in the lives of others by owning and evolving our marketing technology stack, including Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Optimizely, and our Customer Data Platform, Tealium. You will bridge marketing, engineering, and the web, ensuring that our data flows seamlessly across platforms to measure and optimize marketing and web performance effectively. These efforts are deployed to support effective marketing campaigns, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency to support the ASU Charter.
Own the MarTech Stack: Manage and optimize integrations between GTM, GA4, Optimizely, our data warehouse, and Tealium.
Tagging & Tracking Implementation: Design and maintain robust event tracking and data layer specifications; work alongside our marketing team and agency partners to implement durable, forward-thinking, advertising technology solutions.
Experimentation & Personalization: Partner with UX and Product teams to design, launch, and measure A/B and multivariate tests in Optimizely; ensure accurate experiment tracking and reporting.
Data Activation: Use our CDP to activate customer segments across marketing and CRM tools (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, Salesforce).
Governance & Documentation: Maintain a clear MarTech taxonomy, data dictionary, and change log for tracking and analytics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the liaison between Marketing, Web, and UX teams to ensure smooth technical execution of campaigns and initiatives.
Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
NOTE:
This is not a fully remote position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Evidence of a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
Extensive experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Experience with Google Tag Manager or Tealium iQ; experience with interfacing with ad vendor APIs and server-side tag management is highly desired.
Demonstrated familiarity with Optimizely or other A/B testing tools for A/B testing and personalization.
Experience with Customer Data Platforms (Tealium, Hightouch, Growthloop) and data warehouse integrations.
Evidence of strong understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts; experience with BigQuery or Redshift preferred.
Proven ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to identify requirements and solve problems.
