Intermediate Architectural Designer Job Description:

Our New York City office is seeking Intermediate Designers with 4‑7 years of experience working in an architectural design firm. The ideal candidate will have experience in project types ranging from commercial office interiors to mixed‑use and landlord/building architecture. Under the supervision of a Senior Designer and Project Manager, Intermediate Project Designers are responsible for overseeing design aspects of projects from concept onward. This role requires a strong design sensibility, proficiency in space planning, and the ability to translate client vision into innovative solutions while collaborating closely with the technical team to ensure design intent is maintained through all phases of the project. Responsibilities

Develop design concepts aligned with client goals and workplace strategies. Prepare compelling presentations, mood boards, and visualization materials for client meetings. Create efficient layouts and test fits that optimize space utilization and meet program requirements. Research, select, and specify furniture, finishes, and equipment that reflect design intent and budget. Advance design concepts into detailed plans, elevations, and material palettes. Partner with the technical team to ensure constructability and compliance with codes. Develop millwork details and collaborate with technical staff to integrate them into construction documents. Participate in client meetings to present design solutions and incorporate feedback. Work closely with consultants, vendors, and internal teams to maintain design integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Review shop drawings and assist in maintaining design intent during construction. Essential Skills

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with rendering tools such as Enscape and Lumion. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications

LEED Accreditation preferred. License or actively pursuing licensure is preferred. Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment with two independent offices in New York City and Long Island. The NYC office hosts 40+ employees, while the Long Island office hosts 30+.
