The Position The Court Case Manager 2 performs a wide range of case-processing, calendaring, and customer-service duties for Probate and Children’s matters, including accepting and reviewing filings, opening cases in CourtView, assigning judicial officers, issuing summonses and subpoenas, and processing fees. This position ensures documents meet statutory and rule requirements, maintains organized case files, monitors motion and calendaring reports, processes and distributes orders and judgments, scans and enters documents, and closes cases when complete. Working across specialized desks—such as CINA, Delinquency, Adoption, Estate, Guardianship/Conservatorship, Mental Commitment, and Calendaring—you will assist with scheduling, docketing, preparing appellate files, assigning court-appointed attorneys, issuing warrants, managing vital statistics reporting, and coordinating courtroom and judicial coverage. The role also provides direct customer service at the counter, by phone, and by email; explains procedures; prepares correspondence; and serves as backup in the courtroom and for other desks to ensure smooth and timely court operations.

What hours will you work? Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. This position may on occasion be scheduled to work nights or weekends depending upon department staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
