Basic Function
The Marketing Communications Specialist plays a key role in executing brand and marketing initiatives that build awareness, drive engagement, and strengthen OCC’s position in the marketplace. This role is ideal for an early-career marketer (1–5 years of experience) who enjoys variety and wants to gain experience in branding, digital marketing, events, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities Brand and Collateral Management Maintain and update marketing materials to ensure they align with OCC brand standards.
Coordinate and support the design, review, and production of internal and external communications such as brochures, web content, newsletters, presentations, and social media posts.
Plan and monitor project tasks, assign responsibilities, and coordinate team efforts to meet deadlines.
Manage digital collateral including webinars, email campaigns, and distributor marketing activities.
Digital Marketing and Communications Monitor lead generation and engagement tools, with a focus on optimizing HubSpot for customer reach.
Support the Marketing Manager with content planning and maintaining the communications calendar.
Create and post engaging social media content.
Manage print and digital collateral—overseeing print orders, webinar logistics, and email campaign execution.
Tradeshows and Event Support Assist in planning, developing, and coordinating tradeshow exhibits, events, and promotional displays.
Participate in staffing the company booth at trade and community events.
Gather and report market intelligence, competitor insights, and industry trends to support strategic decision-making.
Project Coordination Support the Marketing Manager in developing and tracking project timelines.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time and on brand.
Track progress, identify potential delays, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Service and Leadership Alignment Promote OCC’s service excellence and quality by focusing on teamwork, professionalism, and positive communication.
Demonstrate respect, empathy, and collaboration in all customer and team interactions.

Travels up to 25–30% for tradeshows and events.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
Three years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, or publishing. Experience with technical product writing or copywriting is preferred.
Other Qualifications:
Strong presentation, analytical, and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
Ability to meet tight and competing deadlines.

Working Conditions This role involves standard office activities including extended computer use and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
