Position Overview:
Lawler Design Studio is seeking a talented Associate Interior Designer with experience in high-end residential projects. As an Associate Designer, you will participate in all project phases and contribute to the execution of exceptional design at the highest level. You should be proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong understanding of materials, specifications, and best practices for luxury residential interiors.
Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively across multiple high-end residential design projects from concept through installation; take ownership of specific project components within each assignment
Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and mood boards during schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases
Coordinate with team members to produce plans, elevations, and material selections that ensure design intent is seamlessly executed
Assist with premium material sourcing, create comprehensive specifications, and review contractor submittals for adherence to design vision
Participate in client meetings, site visits, vendor coordination, and maintain quality control throughout the design and construction process
Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, artisans, and vendors while representing the studio's commitment to excellence
Desired Skills & Experience
5+ years relevant experience in high-end residential interior design with strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence
Proven project management abilities with capacity to handle multiple projects from design inception through completion
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office
Strong technical drawing skills including 2D drafting and 3D modeling capabilities
Solid understanding of luxury materials, finishes, and furniture appropriate for high-end residential projects
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Travel required for project sites and vendor meetings
