The Dallas Morning News is seeking an Assistant Business Editor to provide editing support and leadership across the department. The editor will prepare stories for publication across multiple platforms, demonstrating an understanding of our print and digital audiences. The candidate must have robust editing skills, a strong sense of accountability journalism, exceptional organization and excellent news judgment. They must be bridge builders forming relationships, and lead a team of reporters. The editor will manage reporters and oversee daily editorial work, ensuring operational goals and effectively and efficiently while providing support for employee management, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, progressive discipline, and allocation of schedules.

Five years of experience in editing and/or copy editing. Ability to work nights and weekends. Skills
Strong news judgment, accuracy, speed, and grammatical precision. Headline writing and managing multimedia. Adapts quickly to changing technologies and workflows and communicates effectively. Education
