The New York Post is seeking a part‑time reporter to join its entertainment digital team. The position is 3 days a week (Monday and Friday required) with shifts of 8 am‑4 pm or 9 am‑5 pm EST. Pay range: $30.00–$36.00 per hour. Responsibilities Generate and craft 7–8 SEO‑optimized digital news stories per week about pop culture. Strategically analyze the daily entertainment news cycle and trending topics to identify relevant story angles and pitch stories. Collaborate with social media, video, and photo departments to enhance coverage and present stories across platforms. Demonstrate initiative and self‑motivation, making informed decisions and working independently in a fast‑paced news environment. Remain adaptable and juggle multiple tasks to contribute to the overall quality and success of content. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in entertainment and breaking news with a strong portfolio of published articles on a digital platform. Ability to craft concise, attention‑grabbing headlines and produce polished, publication‑ready content. Exceptional news judgment, outstanding writing and reporting abilities. Proficiency in time management and multitasking, handling multiple deadlines. Deep understanding of SEO principles and ability to optimize content. Knowledge of traffic analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Parse.ly. Strong knowledge of the entertainment industry and current trends; bonus for industry relationships. Experience with content management systems (especially WordPress) and photo‑editing software. Flexibility to cover live pop‑culture events and work outside traditional business hours.
