Job Description

Are you a dynamic and innovative library professional looking to make a real impact? Marshall University is seeking a passionate and skilled Electronic Resource and Systems Librarian to join our team. This role supports library operations by ensuring seamless access to digital resource systems, playing a key role in supporting the university's academic mission.

University Libraries, 12-month librarian track-Assistant Professor / Librarian II

What You'll Do:
• Provide leadership in aspects of electronic resources and systems.
• Contribute innovative ideas and make strategic decisions based on academic program needs.
• Manage electronic resources including databases, e-books, and online journals.
• Troubleshoot access issues and coordinate with IT or vendors to resolve problems.
• Coordinate trials for new electronic resourcesin collaboration with other library staff.
• Extract, analyze, and report data from library systems to support decision-making.
• Manage and administer the integrated library system (ILS), including modules for cataloging, acquisitions, and ERM.
• Perform routine system updates, backups, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate the implementation of new software or system upgrades
• Participate in campus and university committees.

Required Qualifications

Education

A Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school.

Experience
• 2-5 years of full-time professional experience in electronic resources/systems within an academic library.
• Demonstrated experience with integrated library systems and electronic resource management.
• A strong commitment to public and customer service.
• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Good information literacy and information technology skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

A second Master's degree.

Experience
• Experience working with major library vendors and publishers.
• Experience with Innovative Interfaces Sierra or similar systems.
