Marshall University is seeking a passionate and skilled Electronic Resource and Systems Librarian to join our team. This role supports library operations by ensuring seamless access to digital resource systems, playing a key role in supporting the university’s academic mission. University Libraries, 12-month librarian track – Assistant Professor / Librarian II. What You’ll Do Provide leadership in aspects of electronic resources and systems. Contribute innovative ideas and make strategic decisions based on academic program needs. Manage electronic resources including databases, e-books, and online journals. Troubleshoot access issues and coordinate with IT or vendors to resolve problems. Coordinate trials for new electronic resources in collaboration with other library staff. Extract, analyze, and report data from library systems to support decision-making. Manage and administer the integrated library system (ILS), including modules for cataloging, acquisitions, and ERM. Perform routine system updates, backups, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. Coordinate the implementation of new software or system upgrades. Participate in campus and university committees. Qualifications Required Qualifications Education: A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school. Experience: 2-5 years of full-time professional experience in electronic resources/systems within an academic library. Demonstrated experience with integrated library systems and electronic resource management. A strong commitment to public and customer service. The ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Good information literacy and information technology skills. Preferred Qualifications Education: A second Master’s degree. Experience: Experience working with major library vendors and publishers. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Sierra or similar systems.
