Digital Experience Product Designer In this dynamic role, you will deliver intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing digital experiences that empower employees to better serve our customers, help customers effectively run their businesses, and help consumers achieve their personal financial goals. You will use robust user experience research and design (UX R&D) principles in concert with Agile Software Development to regularly validate with our users as we define, design, and develop experiences that enhance the digital experiences for our users. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that shape the future of our organization and support our commitment to innovation and operational excellence. As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing delightful digital experiences for our users.
The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to effectively plan and lead cross‑functional teams and customers in collaborative UX design activities dealing with complex applications and challenges. You will be detail oriented, focused on delivering high quality deliverables, have a passion for the field of product design, and possess customer empathy with a drive to create outstanding customer experiences. Responsibilities
Deliver intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing digital experiences
Understand target users and their key needs and challenges
Use robust user experience research and design (UX R&D) principles
Collaborate with researchers, business analysts, product managers, developers, and others on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts
Generate ideas and prototyping concepts anchored in research insights, subject knowledge, technology requirements, and business goals
Employ design thinking methods to uncover insights that help inform design decisions and translate user needs
Validate designs with users through regular testing and feedback sessions
Translate user needs, style guides, and requirements into elegant solutions for complex problems
Create visual designs and screen specs aligned with our design system
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in user experience (UX) or interaction design, Figma, responsive web design, and UI frameworks
Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Behavioral Science, Experience Design, or related field (required)
Experience working with cross‑functional teams or large‑scale software development lifecycles, including waterfall and agile methodologies
Solid analytical skills with the ability to understand and solve problems
Solid judgment and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively sell an idea, tell a use‑centered story and engage with clients
Solid understanding of information design/architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology
Proficient in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art, with a sensitivity to typography, color, layout, and a general awareness of materials/textures
Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
Usability testing and user research experience as a plus
Experience with design systems is advantageous
Visa Sponsorship This Digital Experience Product Designer position is currently not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.
Location This position is fully in office (5 days a week) at the Zions Technology Center – 7860 South Bingham Junction Blvd, Midvale, UT 84047.
The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000‑square‑foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus will be the company’s primary technology and operations center. This modern and environmentally friendly technology center will enable Zions to continue to compete for the best technology talent in the state while providing team members with an exceptional work environment with features such as:
Electric vehicle charging stations and proximity to Historic Gardner Village UTA TRAX station.
At least 75% of the building is powered by on‑site renewable solar energy.
