Job Description VNN is seeking a news producer to support an exciting new partnerships launching. The ideal candidate is someone who thinks outside the TV box, and knows how to creatively use video and motion graphics to tell a compelling story. Successful applicants will demonstrate expertise in the news and documentary field and have the ability to flourish in a team environment. The producer’s primary job is to pitch ideas and carry them through to completion. You will also be expected to accept assignments, from breaking news to feature stories, and act on them quickly.
Responsibilities
Pitch, research, report stories for daily broadcast
Work independently, as well as with correspondents and other producers on short-form news stories under deadline
String out video and graphics elements for editors
Work closely with motion graphic artists to create info-graphics
Work closely with editors to build story segments
This is a 100% contract/ commission role
Qualifications
1+ years of digital daily news producing experience
Must have a strong writing ability
Deadline news writing experience
Strong knowledge of desktop editing
Digital or mobile news producing experience
Willingness to work overtime and overnights, during special events and breaking news situations as needed
Additional Information Desired Characteristics
News judgment with solid ethical decision process
Excellent Spanish, reading, writing and speaking
Strong English, reading, writing and speaking
