Responsibilities
Use your natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories and expert interviews.
Inspire and motivate colleagues while leading by example.
Push our streams to be filled with context and stand out from the competition.
Show off your creativity and storytelling skills.
Create stories of various lengths across multiple platforms for targeted audiences.
Meet daily deadlines.
Combine live feeds, graphics, compelling video, and emotional sound to create an engaging experience.
Coordinate with reporters and/or anchors across the country covering various news events.
Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events.
Regularly explore new ideas following careful discussions with supervisors.
Edit together video specials/re-racked content that will work for VOD purposes.
Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show.
Challenge the traditional way of doing things.
Passion for breaking news and go‑getter attitude.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of news producing experience.
Top-notch communication skills.
Solid journalistic judgment and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair, and unique content.
Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
Experience using VMix (or similar system), ENPS and desktop video editing software such as Edius, strongly preferred.
Desire to live and work in‑person in Charlotte, North Carolina.
