Photography Adjunct (Spring/Summer 2026)

Position: Photography Adjunct (Spring/Summer 2026) at Virginia Community College System, Germanna Community College.

Posting Summary: Part‑time adjunct faculty, teaching up to 12 credit hours in fall/spring and/or up to 8 credit hours in summer. No guarantee of continued employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in Photography, in‑person and online.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline.

Essential Functions

Meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports; teach prescribed courses with established texts; uphold professional ethics in accordance with College policies.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Photography.
• Ability to effectively teach in classroom and online settings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.

Additional Considerations

• Prior teaching experience.
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience with online teaching.
• Substantial proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution.
