Superette
Superette Studio is a branding and interior design firm specializing in hospitality and retail design. As a Senior Interior Designer with Superette, you will create designs and presentations for a variety of hospitality projects, including hotels and restaurants. Depending on your skills, you may also contribute to branding, graphic design, and other design initiatives. This is both a creative and a production/technical role, and you will report to the Principal for each project. You will collaborate with the Principal who is primarily responsible for setting the design direction and overall project management. You may be responsible for leading smaller projects or portions of larger projects independently.
Experience
Minimum 5 years full-time interior design work, including at least 2 years of hotel or restaurant design
Have completed multiple hospitality projects from start to finish, all phases of design through construction
Sourcing FF&E and interior finish materials for hospitality projects
Technical Skills
Proficiency (can use without help) in Revit – ability to create complete drawing sets with limited supervision
SketchUp
Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop), Google Docs, DesignSpec or other specification software
Ability to translate design concepts into concrete materials and furniture selections
Hand sketching
Responsibilities Design & Execution
Create 3D models in SketchUp
Render elevations in Photoshop
Create mood boards in Adobe InDesign
Create drawings (plans, elevations, RCPs) in Revit
Hand sketch to convey design concepts
Pull research images
Source materials and furniture appropriate to the use/location and within the project budget
Create complete design presentations in Adobe InDesign incorporating the above
Documentation
SD, DD, and CD drawings in Revit
FF&E matrix for hotel projects with multiple room types
Furniture, finish, and equipment (FF&E) specifications in DesignSpec
Budgets (especially FF&E) and reports in Excel, Google Docs, or other software
Attend and report on field visits
Follow up with GC and vendors and/or purchasing agent on ID and FF&E punchlist items until they are complete
Administration
Set up & maintain project files and folders in accordance with Company’s and industry architectural standards
Maintain a working check set of all deliverable documents
Archive record copies of all milestone deliverables
Tag images in accordance with Image Library Standards
Write and issue meeting notes for external design meetings
Order material samples for projects
Update and source new materials
Take ownership of library organization (in-office)
Develop strong relationships with vendors
Organize vendor meetings in the office
Collaborate frequently with others outside the Company (clients, consultants, vendors, contractors, tradespeople, etc.)
Goals & Expectations
Support your growth as a designer in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary studio environment
Fluency with the software programs mentioned above; in‑house training for DesignSpec if needed
Complete assigned tasks within project budgeted hours
Keep the Principal updated with daily morning and end‑of‑day check‑ins on your progress
Follow the Company’s standards for project execution, including file naming and established work processes
Take initiative and ownership for your given tasks, ask questions when needed and in a timely manner
Contribute to client satisfaction by providing deliverables on time and at a high level of professional quality
Physical Demands
Visit project sites, survey empty buildings which may or may not be climate‑controlled, climb stairs, carry up to 50 lbs.
Travel Requirements
Travel to local job sites is expected; occasional travel to job sites within the US is possible, depending on the projects you are assigned to
No international travel anticipated

Pay scale: commensurate with experience, paid bi‑weekly

Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Location: Providence, RI – in person and hybrid (see Work Environment)
Hybrid schedule: Mon & Fri are remote days, Tue–Thu the team is in‑office, in‑person
Must report to the office in person all Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. May also be required to report to the office on Mondays & Fridays, depending on project needs
Remote workers must provide their own high‑speed internet access and phone service; Company provides remote access to necessary files and web‑based software
Studio is pet friendly, with one or more dogs in residence each day
