Sr. CAD Designer at Boyd.
Job Summary: Hands‑on designer responsible for creating electro‑mechanical systems in Solidworks for liquid cooling system products. This person will work with a team of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers to bring the new product through its full product development process, which includes early concept through production support. The candidate will own the design throughout the entire specification, design, build, and test process. Responsibilities include sheet‑metal design, selecting fittings, tubing, hardware and other components, and creating all detail drawings. The mechanical designer will ensure that the product’s enclosure and layout meet the specification requirements, are manufacturable and serviceable, while working with the team to deliver on schedule and on budget.

Responsibilities
Develop mechanical and electrical designs in Solidworks from rough sketches, design concepts, verbal instructions, customer drawings, etc., with minimal engineering supervision. This includes sheet‑metal design for the product specifications. Evaluate trade‑offs between performance/functionality, quality, cost and schedule. Ensure that cost, performance and schedule goals are achieved. Actively manage risk mitigation efforts.
Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, interchangeability, weight, tolerance stack and material availability.
Provide optional design approaches during early stages of design.
Create new items and BOMs for the design.
Create complex assembly models in Solidworks.
Creates drawings with proper dimensioning and tolerancing.
Follow established procedures; drive continuous improvement and update procedures applicable to your area as necessary.
Provide product support from early concept through product development and throughout production.
Travel limited. Typically less than 5% of the time per year. Domestic and International travel possible.

Compensation Compensation range is $80K-$100K base pay with bonus potential.
