Job Description As a Security Officer - Tech/Media Patrol Specialist in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated tech and media locations, helping to deter security-related incidents through visible presence and attentive patrols. You will interact with staff and visitors, delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication while upholding our values of integrity, agility, and teamwork. What You'll Do
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and around the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and assist with visitor management processes as outlined in site procedures.
Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or maintenance needs discovered during patrols.
Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to support a secure environment within the tech, media, and telecom location.
Minimum Requirements
At least one year of security-related experience is required.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
