Candidate:
Christine Markatos Design is seeking a talented senior designer to join our team full time who is creative and enthusiastic about all aspects of residential design. The ideal applicant must have 4 years of experience with a residential interior design firm and strong experience in project management, sourcing, purchasing, expediting and installation for high-end residential projects as well as drafting in AutoCAD and preparing construction documents. The right candidate will be a self-starter who is highly motivated and interested in the opportunity to learn and grow. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Assist Principal and Design Director with all aspects of design process from design development to final installation
Research and collaborate during design development phase including preparing of schematic designs and selection of materials/furnishings
Create and revise AutoCAD drawings as instructed by Design Director
Develop architectural plumbing, appliance and finish schedules and coordinate with contractors
Secure vendor quotes, create client proposals and vendor purchase orders in Studio Designer
Maintain detailed client files, including proposals, invoices, CFAs, schedules and samples
Assist in monitoring and maintaining client budgets and statements
Correspond with studio approved vendors
Expedite and track all client orders
Coordinate with storage companies and receivers
Requirements
Must have 4 years of experience working in a residential interior design firm
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Studio Designer
Highly creative with the ability to take direction well
Experience in sourcing and documenting FF&E design elements
Ability to multi-task multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workflow in dynamic office environment
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Detail oriented and thorough
Excellent project organization skills
Ability to prepare efficient written communication for design team, vendors and artisans
Personal transportation
