As a Senior Engineer on the Core Platform team at Reddit, you will play a vital role in scaling and maintaining the Core API Platform, which handles millions of requests daily. You'll be a technical leader, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the high uptime and performance of our systems. You will contribute to the roadmap, build features for real-time experiences, and directly impact hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative solutions to scale Reddit's platform.

Build scalable platform API projects for the entire organization.

Mentor junior engineers.

Build, deliver, and operate highly available services (5+ 9's availability).

Optimize Reddit’s media experience for global users.

Requirements

Software development experience in Golang or Python.

5+ years of experience with large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems.

Experience optimizing media performance, scalability, and delivery.

Excellent communication skills for collaborating in a remote environment.

Familiarity with API platform service architectures.

Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
