Senior Audio‑Visual Engineer, GS‑15 Information Technology Infrastructure Division (ITID), Huntsville, AL – Full‑time, Permanent.

Base Pay Range $152,550.00/yr – $195,200.00/yr

Job Summary The FBI’s ITID is seeking a highly qualified Senior Audio‑Visual Engineer to maintain secure, reliable, and state‑of‑the‑art audiovisual engineering solutions within the Communication Services Unit (CSU). This role will lead planning, engineering, stakeholder management, and policy development for all classified and unclassified communication services.

Key Requirements

United States citizenship.

Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Major Duties

Lead all efforts related to planning, engineering, stakeholder management, policy interpretation, oversight, and compliance for Voice, Video, Telephony, Media, Entertainment, and interactive services.

Serve as the FBI expert on Communication Services and provide Telephony, IT, and IS expertise to Executive Management and Senior Leadership.

Establish the FBI’s standards for communication technical architectures, data architecture management, software design, configuration management, acquisition, testing, and operation evaluation.

Initiate and support research and development of new communication concepts, technologies, and applications for strategic and tactical FBI environments.

Provide monthly updates to Executive Management through briefs, white papers, cost models, and other materials.

Oversee continuous technological advancement and innovation across Communication and IT areas, including budget formulation and defense.

Set technical direction for Communication Services systems, develop technical policy, and manage its implementation.

Advise and resolve complex problems related to system development, design, standardization, and integration of current and next‑generation communication services.

Specialized Experience (GS‑15)

– At least one year of experience equivalent to the GS‑14 grade level, inclusive of:

Enterprise engineering, IT management, system integration, hardware and software development, and sustainment.

IT theories, principles, standards, and practices sufficient to advise senior agency management on integrating communication systems.

Enterprise telecommunication systems, sustainability, and related functional activities with a focus on architecture, interoperability, protocols, and emerging technologies.
