About the Role
The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for translating marketing strategy into disciplined execution, and ensuring excellence across planning, budgeting, delivery, and performance. They own the day-to-day leadership of the marketing team, oversee the marketing budget, and drive accountability across Creative/Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Retention/CRM, and Field Marketing. This leader brings structure, clarity, and rigor while maintaining speed and creativity in a fast-growing, omnichannel business.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary execution partner to the CMO, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into actionable plans and delivered with excellence.
Lead and integrate all marketing functions into a cohesive, high-performing organization with shared goals, priorities, and timelines.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and decision rights across teams to reduce friction and increase accountability.
Strategic Execution & Operating Excellence
Own the end-to-end execution of marketing initiatives, from planning and briefing through launch, optimization, and post-campaign analysis.
Build and maintain marketing operating rhythms, including annual planning, quarterly prioritization, campaign calendars, launch readiness, and retrospectives.
Implement scalable processes that improve speed, quality, and consistency without over-bureaucratizing the organization.
Ensure brand standards, messaging consistency, and creative quality are upheld across all channels and touchpoints.
Budget Ownership & Financial Management
Own the marketing budget, including planning, allocation, and spend management.
Partner closely with Finance to ensure budget discipline, transparency, and ROI-driven decision-making.
Evaluate investments across channels, agencies, and initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives and performance expectations.
Oversee agency and vendor relationships, including scope, performance, and cost management.
KPI Management & Analytics
Establish and monitor KPIs across all marketing functions, including performance marketing, retention, engagement, and brand impact.
Ensure data and insights inform decision-making, prioritization, and optimization.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through testing, learning, and clear performance accountability.
Provide regular performance updates and insights to the CMO and executive leadership.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with Sales, Retail Operations, Commercializaiton & Innovation teams to ensure marketing efforts are integrated with business execution.
Align marketing plans with company-wide initiatives, product launches, promotions, and growth priorities.
Serve as a connective leader who removes barriers, resolves trade-offs, and keeps teams moving forward together.
Act as a coach and multiplier for senior marketing leaders, setting expectations, developing talent, and elevating performance standards.
Lead, develop, and retain high-performing marketing talent across multiple disciplines.
Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth and succession planning.
Qualifications
12+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including senior leadership roles overseeing multiple marketing disciplines in omnichannel DTC brands, retail, or CPG environments.
Proven experience leading and integrating creative, digital, performance marketing, lifecycle/CRM, and field marketing teams.
Experience partnering closely with executive leadership and serving as a second-in-command to a CMO or equivalent role.
Demonstrated success owning and managing large, complex marketing budgets.
Strong operational and organizational leadership skills with a track record of building scalable processes.
High financial acumen with the ability to connect marketing investment to business outcomes.
Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience scaling teams and marketing operations in a high-growth environment.
Must be able to work a hybrid schedule (4 days/week) in Culver City, CA.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
