Summary of the Role The Associate Director, Medical Strategy and Communications will lead the North American Medical Affairs team and partner with Amgen to develop and execute the U.S. medical launch plan for rocatinlimab, a novel product in development for atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory diseases. The role includes strategic planning, insight analysis, stakeholder engagement, and operational leadership across medical education, evidence generation, and scientific communications.
Essential Functions
Develop and oversee execution of the U.S. medical launch readiness plan.
Contribute to NA medical strategic and tactical planning for rocatinlimab in collaboration with cross‑functional partners.
Provide medical input into integrated brand, financial planning, and annual planning processes.
Offer strategic input during product brand, franchise and joint collaborative meetings to support launch and lifecycle management.
Shape global evidence generation and communication strategy to engage diverse stakeholders.
Represent KKNA Medical Affairs at major congresses and advisory boards, establishing thought leadership in inflammatory disease.
Build and maintain relationships with key external experts and advocacy organizations.
Liaise with Field Medical to integrate field insights into medical strategy.
Collaborate with Global Scientific Lead to support medical onboarding and continuous learning for MSLs and non‑medical colleagues.
Communicate critical business insights and program updates to senior leaders through reports and quarterly insight releases.
Serve as primary reviewer of scientific publications and medical communications; lead the medical review committee to ensure scientific accuracy.
Determine tiering of key opinion leaders in collaboration with Compliance and oversee vendor‑related activities.
Ensure adherence to all SOPs, policies, processes and compliance guidelines.
Job Requirements Education Advanced degree in Health Sciences or related field (MD, PhD, DNP, PharmD) required.
Experience Minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in Medical Affairs within pharmaceutical companies and medical consulting agencies, with a strong focus on immunology. Proven track record in field medical operations, product launches, insights analysis, and strategic planning aligned with business and scientific objectives.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of ICH‑GCP, clinical trial protocols, regulatory submissions.
Familiarity with PhRMA, EFPIA, FDA, EMA regulations.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, prioritization and collaborative abilities.
Strategic thinking and business acumen.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Non‑Technical Skills Strong work ethics, detail oriented, adaptable to ambiguity, passion for learning and development, and cultural sensitivity within a multinational organization.
Physical Demands Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work.
Working Conditions Requires up to 30% domestic and international travel.
Compensation Salary range: $185,000 to $200,000 (actual salary may vary based on experience, qualifications, location and other factors).
