Vice President Campus Design – 2 Hour Learning (Remote)
We are building a nationwide network of 2‑Hour Learning campuses—environments where students complete a full day’s academic work in two concentrated hours, then dedicate the remainder of their time to passion projects, life‑skill development, and physical activity. Your responsibility is to ensure these environments leave a lasting impression. As the execution owner for interior environments across the network, you will establish modular standards governing layout, FF&E, play areas, and wayfinding. You will guarantee consistent, precise execution at each location, visit campuses in person, identify issues, define scope for enhancements, and shepherd improvements from budget approval through final installation.
Base pay range $100.00/hr – $100.00/hr
What You Will Be Doing
Develop modular, repeatable design frameworks for spatial layout, FF&E, materials, and play environments that adapt across a range of campus settings
Perform structured on‑site evaluations to measure alignment with brand standards and identify high‑leverage opportunities for improvement
Prepare detailed, visually documented, budget‑conscious proposals for space enhancements that support pedagogy, brand identity, and parent perception
Manage vendor execution on‑site, maintaining fidelity to design standards, budget parameters, and project timelines through continuous quality assurance
Document post‑installation outcomes—successes and shortcomings—and integrate findings into evolving design playbooks
What You Won’t Be Doing
Designing bespoke, singular environments that resist replication or scalable deployment.
Delivering specifications and disengaging. You retain ownership from initial audit through final installation.
Delaying action until conditions are ideal. This position values proactive decision‑making, rapid iteration, and sound judgment amid uncertainty.
Generating unconstrained creative concepts. The work is tightly aligned with brand identity and operational realities.
Operating remotely from a desk. You will spend 50–75% of your time on location.
Key Responsibilities Guarantee that every campus location provides a premium, brand‑consistent, and pedagogically effective physical environment through the creation and execution of scalable, quality‑driven modular design systems.
Basic Requirements
5+ years of experience designing and executing multi‑location environments in education, retail, hospitality, or co‑working sectors
Portfolio demonstrating completed projects that marry aesthetic excellence with operational feasibility
Proven track record developing scalable, standards‑driven design frameworks, beyond one‑time custom solutions
Hands‑on management of vendor execution, including oversight of installation quality and adherence to timelines
Excellent documentation abilities and skill communicating across functions, particularly with stakeholders outside the design discipline
Prepared and able to travel regularly, 50–75% of the time, throughout the U.S.
Located in the U.S. and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
Background designing elevated environments with rigorous quality expectations, such as boutique hospitality, luxury retail, or high‑end private residential projects
Proficiency with spatial documentation platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, Figma, or comparable tools
An intuitive ability to recognize what elevates a space to premium status, even within constrained budgets
