A K-12 educational institution in Wake Forest, NC, is seeking a dedicated educator with expertise in teaching students who are visually impaired. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and teaching methods as needed Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) specific to the needs of visually impaired students Use assistive technology and specialized materials to enhance student learning and independence Monitor and assess student progress, modifying strategies to ensure academic success and skill development Provide orientation and mobility training as appropriate Stay current with best practices, legal requirements, and resources for teaching visually impaired students Qualifications: Certification or licensure in Special Education with endorsement or specialization in Visual Impairment Instruction Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired Strong understanding of assistive technologies and adaptive instructional strategies Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families Excellent communication and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment Location: Wake Forest, NC This contract teaching role offers a chance to utilize your specialized skills in a rewarding educational setting.
