Adjunctive/Recreation/Art/Music/Dance/Movement & Drama Therapist (FT/PT)
Base pay range: $56,160.00/yr – $72,800.00/yr
To provide quality group and individual treatment to psychiatric patients and serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy, assuring delivery of high‑quality treatment to psychiatric patients.
Essential functions:
Conduct adjunctive therapy assessments documenting history and identifying preliminary issues for treatment by interviewing the patient.
Provide individual and group treatment using various treatment modalities from the discipline and training background.
Attend treatment team meetings to provide adjunctive therapy (expressive, recreational and life skills) perspective.
Report to community/state agencies any patient issues required.
Demonstrate conduct in keeping with Aurora ethical standards.
Comply with facility safety, infection control and security program.
Participate in activities internal and external customer service standards.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreation therapy, music therapy, occupational therapy or related equivalent discipline).
Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., art therapy, dance/movement therapy, drama therapy).
Certification preferred.
Mental health experience preferred.
Knowledge of acute psychological disorders; advanced principles of abnormal psychology.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for Healthcare Providers following the American Heart Association guidelines.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Advanced education beyond bachelor’s level.
Certification in the relevant therapeutic discipline.
Mental health experience.
Knowledge of acute psychological disorders and principles of abnormal psychology.
