What You Will Do GFT is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development team! This role follows a hybrid working schedule with regular attendance required in the office.

GFT’s Strategic Services The GFT Strategic Services team – including Human Resources, Legal, Accounting & Finance, Office Operations, IT Services and Marketing & Communications – manages and supports the company’s global operations. Strategic Services is part of a broader strategy to transform the business and improve efficiency. Their support is the backbone of our ability to deliver infrastructure consulting and design services.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions that drive organizational objectives.

Develop clear, engaging, end‑to‑end learning and performance‑focused solutions aligned to strategic business objectives.

Apply adult learning theory, industry best practices, and evidence‑based instructional design strategies to learning program and training material development.

Conduct needs assessment and training needs analysis to develop strategic guidance and design learning solutions.

Act as internal consultant and trusted advisor to program stakeholders, steering the instructional design process from analysis through evaluation.

Ensure alignment and collaboration among stakeholders by effectively developing, communicating, and negotiating buy‑in to work plans, timelines, and scope.

Draft, revise, and edit instructional materials such as course outlines, templates, style guides, video and audio scripts, instructor guides, participant guides, learning assessments, and course evaluations.

Serve as backup support for learning management system (LMS) administration.

Education | Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

3–5 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering training materials for multiple delivery methods (instructor‑led, virtual instructor‑led, web‑based, blended learning).

Knowledge and practical experience with adult learning theory, instructional methodologies, technology‑enabled design, and learning methods.

Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint for developing training templates, visual aids, and job aids.

Experience with Articulate Storyline or similar web‑based training development tools.

Experience with Adobe Premiere or other video development tools.

Experience applying graphic design principles and best practices to training development.

Superior communication and written language skills, including grammar.

Ability to diplomatically influence stakeholders to adopt best practices and evidence‑based approaches to instructional design.

Experience with LMS administration.

Knowledge of accessibility principles/practices and their implications for design and development.

What We Prefer You Bring

Experience working within the engineering or professional services industry.

Experience with Cornerstone LMS.

Compensation The salary range for this role is $70,000 – $90,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
