As a
Senior Interior Designer , you will bring together creative vision, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of the design and production process to deliver innovative, sustainable, and budget-conscious environments. Working primarily within
Healthcare, Workplace, Architectural, and Tenant Improvement (T.I.) projects , you will play a key role in shaping design excellence while fostering a collaborative, respectful, and inspiring team culture. This role requires exceptional design ability, experience in workplace or interior architecture, and a portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful, creative design solutions.
What You Will Do
Lead interior design projects through all phases, including
programming, conceptual design, space planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration .
Provide strategic design leadership to support the organization, coordination, and execution of projects.
Collaborate seamlessly with
internal teams, consultants, core & shell teams, and external partners .
Lead the
FF&E scope , including furniture selection and sourcing, systems and ancillary presentations, materials and finishes selection, specifications, vendor coordination, bidding or negotiated contracts, and installation.
Develop and iterate design concepts using
Revit, SketchUp, Enscape , and other modeling or rendering tools in conjunction with
Adobe Creative Suite .
Produce and oversee interior architectural drawings, finishes, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and schedules.
Coordinate with consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to achieve client design intent and budget objectives.
Mentor and guide junior designers while working collaboratively with technical and design staff.
Build and maintain strong
client relationships
within the workplace and healthcare sectors.
Contribute to office initiatives, learning programs, and firm-wide activities.
Promote an
interdisciplinary design approach
that reflects JZID’s culture of design quality and excellence.
Perform
QA/QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control)
throughout project delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Interior Design or Architecture .
NCIDQ certification required .
7+ years
of relevant interior design experience in
Healthcare and Corporate Workplace environments .
Strong portfolio demonstrating all phases of work, including
programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and completed projects .
Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts and respond to client, budget, and site constraints.
Knowledge of
sustainable and universal design principles .
Proficiency in
Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, AutoCAD , and related design software.
Strong understanding of
furniture systems, finishes, materials, color selection, specifications, and procurement .
Advanced graphic and visualization skills to clearly communicate design intent.
Flexibility to manage a single client with multiple project types or multiple projects at varying stages of development.
