Advocate Health Care
Communications Rep
Advocate Health Care is looking for a Communications Representative to handle incoming calls and support hospital communications.
Base Pay Range $18.50/hr - $27.75/hr
Responsibilities
Answer all incoming and internal calls on the Alcatel / AmCom console.
Direct calls to the appropriate department or individual.
Respond to any signals from the emergency panel and wall.
Follow policy and procedure to alert all required personnel involved in the emergency.
Monitor panels and notify Security if necessary.
Page hospital personnel upon request; process meet‑me pages when needed.
Overhead page to announce emergencies, codes, drills, etc.
Exchange broken pagers as needed.
Fully utilize the IRM paging system to register physicians, page, and process codes.
Log and report trouble in the AmCom system.
Contact supervisor if a service call is needed.
Provide documentation on various logs, reports, and projects.
Maintain personnel work schedule, covering absences when needed, arriving for scheduled shifts on time.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1‑2 years of office or switchboard experience.
Ability to speak English fluently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Utilize information from board, screens, over‑head monitors, and alarm panels.
Document events and situations.
Work in a fast‑paced environment.
Work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
When direct patient care is involved, lift up to 35 lbs without assistance; use patient handling equipment for heavier lifts.
