Role Description The Marketing Trainer delivers training programs across Oregon (Oregon Coast, Portland Metro, Central Oregon). Responsibilities include New‑Hire training, ongoing skill development for underperforming associates, and operational support during marketing shifts. The trainer serves as the subject‑matter expert for the Journey system and collaborates with marketing and sales leadership to keep all training and quality standards met.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct new‑employee marketing training during the first 90 days, covering product knowledge, marketing strategies, customer service, compliance, and productivity.
Partner with site marketing leaders to evaluate new‑hire performance and provide weekly coaching for underperforming marketers.
Support operations by shifting to marketing locations as needed, inspecting processes, and ensuring QA audit standards are maintained.
Coordinate with sales trainers to align presentation, tools, roll‑outs, and messaging between marketing and sales teams.
Assist in recruiting and building a talent pipeline for future marketing needs.
Travel Requirements
Travel up to and beyond 50% of the time, including weekends.
Competencies
Experience with both CMP and in‑house marketing preferred.
Marketing management experience desired.
Knowledge of Journey, driving for results, and innovation.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications Education : High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred. Training: Licenses, programs, or certificates required in the state of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Technical Proficiencies
Strong working knowledge of all Wyndham Vacation Clubs marketing programs and processes.
Ability to deliver training to diverse and adult learning groups.
Excellent communication, writing, and listening skills.
Interpersonal skills to reduce tension, handle conflict, and operate under pressure.
Capability to manage multiple demands and adjust approaches to shifting priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Apple technology (iPads); experience with audio/visual equipment.
Job Experience
Minimum one year of successful marketing experience for Non‑Owner and Owner marketing channels.
Proven track record with tours (T.O.).
Level of Decision‑Making Authority
Schedule and prepare training class agendas.
Identify and develop opportunities to lift tour flow and provide training coverage as needed.
Hold the marketing team accountable to policies and procedures.
Level of Autonomy
Work independently and oversee a team with minimal supervision.
Impact on the Organization
Engagement in training improves tour flow and elevates guest expectations, driving sales and profitability.
Developing leaders sustains future growth for the company.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct reports currently.
