Responsibilities 50% Relationships and Marketing
Assists Producer to collect data from prospects needed to market accounts for all lines of coverage.
Develops quality submissions to carriers for appropriate types of coverage.
Submits information to insurance carriers and negotiates premiums and coverage in a timely manner.
Negotiates with carrier personnel and underwriters to develop the most attractive proposal for prospects.
Reviews quotes, prepares spreadsheets, and creates content specific to prospect size and situation.
Interacts regularly to build relationships with carrier personnel, managing phone calls and emails promptly and attending off‑site meetings as scheduled for relationship building and product knowledge.
Prepares formal proposals and communicates them to Sales Producers.
Builds Producer/Director confidence in job knowledge, judgment calls, and awareness of current industry trends.
Handles complex policy issues and finds resolutions with minimal Producer/Director involvement.
30% Insurance Knowledge
Knows coverage for various Property and Casualty lines of business and researches additional resources to deepen knowledge.
Applies this knowledge to all areas of responsibility.
10% Teamwork
Works collaboratively with the team and other departments such as Sales Producers and Client Advisors.
Plans and discusses the execution of strategies, meets deadlines set by Producers, volunteers to back up others as needed, and manages PTO in line with departmental needs.
Completes special projects assigned by the Director.
> 10% Determination
Displays commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as set forth in the organization’s education program.
Qualifications
At least three years of related insurance experience and/or training, preferably handling multi‑line commercial accounts; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must hold an applicable state insurance license or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Must be able to obtain insurance designations as set forth by the organization’s education plan.
