Position
Designer – Manufacturing Designer at QA1 in Lakeville, MN.
Base pay range $55,000 - $70,000 per year
Responsibilities
Design and develop CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks
Produce detailed technical drawings and documentation
Create assembly drawings with exploded views to support installation and work instructions
Update engineering documents through the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process
Collaborate closely with design and manufacturing engineers to assist in new product development
Maintain accurate product data in Infor Syteline ERP, including descriptions, revisions, drawing numbers, and BOMs
Generate new part numbers and BOMs for engineering changes and new product introductions
Perform additional duties as beneficial to the success of QA1.
Qualifications
Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school
Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Computer‑aided design and drafting training
Familiarity with lathes, milling functions, and welding equipment including MIG and TIG
General automotive equipment knowledge
3D scanning and geometric, dimensioning, and tolerancing (a plus)
Ability to work with a diverse team
Strong problem‑solving skills with creative solution‑finding
Proactive, positive attitude and collaborative approach to challenges
People‑centric demeanor, being someone others want to work with
Demonstrable technical proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and ability to learn other Microsoft applications and QA1’s ERP system (Syteline)
