Manufacturing Designer

to join our

Lakeville, MN

location. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge products that not only meet but exceed industry expectations. As a member of the QA1 team, you’ll be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, managing and updating bills of material within ERP and PDM systems, and ensuring efficient workflow through the engineering change notice process. You’ll support the Engineering Manager, and your success in this role will depend on your ability to produce detailed technical drawings and documentation.

The Opportunity:

Design and develop CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks

Produce detailed technical drawings and documentation

Create assembly drawings with exploded views to support installation and work instructions

Update engineering documents through the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process

Collaborate closely with design and manufacturing engineers to assist in new product development

Maintain accurate product data in Infor Syteline ERP, including descriptions, revisions, drawing numbers, and Bills of Material (BOM)

Generate new part numbers and BOMs for engineering changes and new product introductions

Other duties as beneficial to the success of QA1.

The Critical Skills and Experience You’ll Need:

Associate's degree (AA /AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

Two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer aided design and drafting training

Familiarity with lathes and mill function

Familiarity with welding equipment including MIG and TIG

General automotive equipment knowledge

3D scanning and Geometric, Dimensioning, and Tolerancing a plus

Ability to work with a diverse team

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and recommend solutions

Proactive, positive attitude, and collaborative approach to challenges

Be a person people want to work with.

Demonstrable technical proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and capable of quickly training and becoming proficient with other Microsoft application and QA1’s ERP system (Syteline)

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
